Web design services in Johannesburg

Six services, built to run together. The site, the store, the rankings, the ads and the hosting all come out of one team, which is why nothing here gets blamed on somebody else when it stops working. Every price below is the entry point of a fixed quote.

What is in each one

The six, and what you get

Every list below is the entry tier of what is published on the packages page, word for word. Higher tiers add more of the same rather than unlocking something that was being held back.

Service 01

Website design

R7,950from, once off

Hand-coded WordPress, not a bought theme with your logo dropped into it. Built mobile first, tuned so the pages load fast on a phone on mobile data, and structured so Google can read every page without guessing what it is about.

The SEO foundation goes in during the build, not as a job afterwards. Heading structure, page titles, descriptions, image alt text and schema are part of building a page here, which is why the SEO plan that follows starts from a working site instead of a repair job.

In the entry tier

  • Up to 5 pages and 5 email accounts
  • Responsive design across every device
  • Content management system, so you can edit it yourself
  • Basic on-page SEO
  • Free SSL certificate for the first year
  • Free domain for the first year
  • Contact form and Google Maps integration
  • Image slider

Premium raises it to 10 pages and 10 email accounts, Ultimate to 15 pages and 25 accounts. The rest of the list is identical on all three.

Service 02

SEO

R3,950from, per month

The technical fixes, the pages you are missing, and the local signals that decide who shows up when somebody in Johannesburg searches for what you sell. Reported in rankings and enquiries rather than in impressions nobody can spend.

It is a plan, not a promise. Organic results take months to move and anyone quoting you a date is selling something. What you get every month is the work, the reporting, and a named list of the keywords being fought for.

In the entry plan

  • 5 focus keywords, named and tracked
  • Keyword optimisation across the site
  • Google Business Profile management
  • Content writing
  • 2 blog articles a month
  • Backlink building
  • Premium SEO plugin
  • Monthly reporting

Growth takes it to 10 keywords and 4 articles a month, Maximize to 15 keywords. Above those sit the corporate and enterprise retainers on the packages page.

Service 04

Online stores

Quotedper store

WooCommerce, with the payments, the delivery rates and the stock wired up properly so orders arrive without you chasing them. A store is a website with a warehouse attached, and the parts that go wrong are almost never the design.

There is no published price for a store, and inventing one would be dishonest. Ten products with one delivery rate and a hundred and forty with size variants and three couriers are not the same job. Send the product range and you get a fixed number back.

What a store build covers

  • WooCommerce on the same hand-coded WordPress base
  • South African payment gateway integration
  • Delivery rates set up by weight, area or flat rate
  • Stock management, so the site knows what is left
  • Product pages structured for search
  • The website tier's inclusions underneath it

Priced on the product range, the variants and the number of delivery and payment routes. Everything else is quoted the same way the website tiers are.

Service 05

Digital marketing

Scopedto the brief

The SEO plan and the Google Ads management run as one engagement instead of two invoices that never mention each other. Same team, same keyword research feeding both, and one monthly report that puts organic and paid on the same page so you can see which one actually brought the enquiry.

It is worth doing when the two are already fighting over the same searches. Ads tell you within a fortnight which keywords convert; that answer is worth more to the SEO plan than another month of guessing, and it only travels between them when one team runs both.

What it combines

  • An SEO plan at the tier your keyword list needs
  • Google Ads management at the tier your spend needs
  • One keyword research pass feeding both
  • A single monthly report covering organic and paid
  • One point of contact for the whole thing

Priced as the two plans it combines rather than as a mark-up on top of them. Which tiers you need depends on the keyword list and the ad budget, so it is quoted rather than listed.

Service 06

Additional services

R329from, per month

Managed WordPress hosting on South African servers, and the maintenance that keeps a site from quietly rotting. Plugins go out of date, certificates expire, and a site nobody has touched in a year is the one that goes down on a Friday afternoon.

You never touch a control panel. The updates, the backups, the certificate and the monitoring are ours. When something breaks there is one number to call and nobody to blame it on.

In the entry tier

  • Managed WordPress hosting
  • SSL certificate included
  • Security monitoring
  • Regular backups
  • Plugin and theme updates

Standard adds daily backups and performance optimisation, Elite adds offsite backups, advanced hardening, uptime monitoring and priority support. Enterprise hosting sits on the packages page.

Whichever you take

Six things that do not depend on which service it is

These are not features of a package. They are how the work runs, and they are the same on a R329 hosting month as on a full build.

Hand-coded, not assembledNo bought theme, no page builder bloat sitting between your visitor and your content. It is why the sites load fast and why a change never breaks three other things.
A fixed quote before anything startsNo hourly billing and no surprise invoices. You get an itemised number, you approve it, and that is the number. If the brief changes, you get a new number before the work happens rather than after.
One person to callNot a ticket queue and not an account manager who forwards it on. The same person who knows what was built is the person who answers when something about it goes wrong.
South African hostingServers in the country your visitors are in, with SSL, security monitoring and backups included rather than sold back to you as an add-on.
SEO built in, not bolted onThe structure Google reads is put in while the pages are being made. A site built this way starts an SEO plan from a clean base instead of from a list of repairs.
We do not hand over and vanishMost agencies give you a login and disappear. The build, the hosting, the updates, the rankings and the ads stay in one place, which is the whole reason the services are worth taking together.

The order

Each one needs the one under it

This is not a process for a single build, it is the order the services go in. Taking them out of order is the most expensive mistake in this list, because every layer above is spent propping up the gap below it.

A site worth sending people to

Everything else is traffic, and traffic arriving at a slow or unconvincing page is money spent proving that the page does not work. Build or fix this first.

Hosting that keeps it up

Picks the site up on launch day. Page speed is a ranking factor and downtime is a lost enquiry, so this is underneath both of the next two rather than beside them.

Ads, if you need enquiries now

Comes before SEO in time even though it costs more per enquiry, because it starts working in days. It also tells you within a fortnight which searches actually convert, which is the single most useful input the SEO plan can have.

SEO, for the position you keep

Slower and cheaper per enquiry, and it does not stop the day you stop paying. Started on a site that is already fast and structured properly, the first months go into content and authority rather than into repairs.

One report over both

Once organic and paid are both running, the question stops being how each performed and starts being which one to put the next rand into. That answer only exists if one team is looking at both.

Questions

The ones worth asking first

Do I have to take all six services?

No. Most clients start with one. A website on its own is a complete piece of work, and so is an SEO plan on a site that already exists. The services are built to run together, which is a different thing from being sold together.

What is the difference between SEO and Google Ads?

Google Ads buys you a position at the top of the results and stops the day you stop paying. SEO earns a position in the results below them and keeps it after the work slows down, but it takes months rather than days.

Ads answer this month, SEO answers next year, and most businesses that can afford both run both.

Can you take on a website somebody else built?

Send the address and we will look at it and tell you straight. Some sites are worth hosting, ranking and improving as they are. Some are built on a theme so heavy that the SEO work would be spent fighting the site rather than the competition, and in that case rebuilding it is cheaper than optimising it.

What does the word from mean on these prices?

It is the starting point of a real quote, not a package you have to squeeze into. Every price on this page is the entry tier of what we publish, and the number you get back is fixed before anything begins. There is no hourly billing.

Every tier and every figure is set out on the packages page.

Can I start with one service and add others later?

Yes, and it is the usual order. A site gets built, the hosting picks it up on launch day, the SEO plan starts once there are pages worth ranking, and the ads go on when there is a page worth sending paid traffic to.

Do you work outside Johannesburg?

Yes. The office is in Pretoria, Gauteng, and the work has gone to businesses across Johannesburg and the rest of South Africa since 2016. Nothing about a website needs the two of us in the same room.

If you want to see what has been built, the projects page has the work.

Next step

Tell us the problem, not the package.

You do not have to know which of the six you need. Describe what is actually going wrong, or what you want to be true in six months, and you get back a fixed quote for the shortest route to it. If that route is one service and not four, that is what the quote will say.
